Sandra Keith Boynton (born April 3, 1953) is a comedian, songwriter, director, music producer, children's author, and illustrator from the United States. Boynton has written and illustrated over fifty books for children and adults, as well as over four thousand greeting cards and five music albums. For various companies, she has also designed calendars, wallpaper, bedding, stationery, paper goods, clothing, jewelry, and plush toys.

Boynton has published numerous children's books as well as several illustrated humor books for the general market since the 1977 release of Hippos Go Berserk! Her books are typically written for very young children and are available in the laminated paperboard format known as board books. Workman Publishing and Simon & Schuster have published nearly all of Boynton's books. Four of her books have been New York Times best sellers: Chocolate: The Consuming Passion (1982), Yay, You! (2001), Consider Love (2002), and Philadelphia Chickens (2002), which peaked at number one and stayed there for nearly a year. Moo, Baa, La La La!, The Going to Bed Book, Barnyard Dance, A to Z, Blue Hat, Green Hat, and Oh My Oh My Oh Dinosaurs! were among the six Boynton books on the 2001 Publishers Weekly All-Time Bestselling Children's Books list.  Her books have sold over 60 million copies worldwide.
